History

GMMA, Department of Pharmacology was founded by Prof. Naci ÇAĞLAR in 1933, as “Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Chemistry Institute".

Following Prof. Çağlar, heads of the Department are,

1946-1951  Prof. Mustafa SUNER,

1951-1976  Prof. Enver İZGÜ

1976-1981  Prof. Aydın AKKAYA.

(After the foundation of Medical Faculty in GMMA in 1980, institute was transformed to a department.) 

1980-1989  Assoc.Prof. Süleyman ÇELİK,

1989-1992  Prof. Muzaffer YARDIM,

1992-1995  Prof. M. Ali GÜNDOĞAN,

1995-2001  Prof. Aşkın IŞIMER,

2001-2003  Assoc.Prof. Gönen DENİZ (by proxy)

Currently Prof. I.Tayfun UZBAY is the head of department till Mach, 2003.
